As a matter of fact -It doesn’t really matter how old you are. We know a retired couple who are in there 70’s; they take a caravan on location and treat commercial assignments as paid holidays!
Although there is a limit to how many hours a child can work (under 16s will need a chaperone and for featured professional work a licence is usually arranged by the production company) In some cases a production company will visit a school and invite a group of children for filming. They may also provide a tutor for the duration of the shoot.

Supporting artists should come in all shapes and sizes to reflect real life, so the possibility of appearing on British Television or in a national advertising campaign- is open to anyone- regardless of looks!

Occasionally you will need to attend a further casting with the Production Company themselves. This is usual for ‘featured work’, 'singing', 'dancing' or ‘voice-overs’. Assuming you are successful, voice over assignments can pay a great deal more than regular back ground or extras work, - you may be entitled to royalties or even a buy out which could involve you being paid a lump sum.
